Hilton Pasadena

Hilton Pasadena

Pasadena, California

The Pasadena Hilton has been a SoCal staple since its opening in 1972—despite undergoing just two minor renovations in 1986 and 1996. Though the popular destination’s old-school style had not held back bookings, the ownership—international insurance firm AXA—wanted to usher in a fresh, contemporary look and engaged DLR, Aimbridge Hospitality and Woodbine to make it happen. Woodbine’s role was to serve as development/construction manager.

The full-scale renovation included doing away with the darker, heavy-hitting opulence of the 70s by replacing the endemic dusty golds, greens and browns with an inviting blend of wood textures, neutral tones, light schemes and soft greens. In addition to overhauling the guest rooms and guest baths, project work included the installation of new high efficiency HVAC in guest rooms; updates to 18 meeting rooms, pre-function space and the lobby, full building fire alarm replacement, bar and restaurant; as well as slight cosmetic upgrades to the exterior of the hotel.
