Houston CityPlace Marriott at Springwoods Village Receives AAA Four Diamond Award for 2020

November 15th, 2019 in

Houston CityPlace Marriott at Springwoods Village was awarded AAA Four Diamond status for 2020. The Four Diamond Rating recognizes the upper echelon of hotels, specifically properties with extraordinary architectural and design qualities, extensive amenities and impeccable standards of excellence in delivering a highly personalized experience.

Houston CityPlace Marriott at Springwoods Village is located in Spring, just south of the Woodlands and 20 miles north of downtown Houston.Woodbine Development Corporation developed the hotel in partnership with CDC Houston and USAA Real Estate Company and serves as its asset manager. Aimbridge Hospitality is the operator. The hotel opened its doors in November 2018, so this year marked the first time the property was eligible to receive the coveted AAA Four Diamond Award. The hotel was also recently recognized by Marriott as “Development Opening of the Year” during the brand’s 2019 conference for owners of full-service hotels.

The AAA rating system is considered one of the more rigorous and comprehensive systems in the industry, with in-person inspections, anonymous overnight stays and, finally, review by a panel of experts as an additional step to ensure credibility. Receiving this designation ranks the Houston CityPlace Marriott at Springwoods Village among just 6% of the more than 27,000 eligible properties, which encompasses destinations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

AAA defines its Four Diamond hotel award recipients as: “upscale with progressively more refined and stylish accommodations and an obvious enhanced level of quality. The fundamental hallmarks at this level include an extensive array of amenities combined with a high degree of hospitality, service, and attention to detail.” AAA’s inspectors evaluate eligible hotels based on comfort, cleanliness, security and available services and amenities.

Guest rooms at Houston CityPlace Marriott at Springwoods Village offer modern, restful retreats, with signature tooled-leather headboards, comfortable lounge furniture and a flexible table/work station setup for seamless transitions between work and relaxation. The 337 guest rooms include one presidential suite, two executive suites, 12 junior suites, 192 king rooms and 130 queen/queen rooms. The exclusive MClub rooms are on high-level floors and offer beautiful lake views and access to the MClub Lounge on the Lobby level. Standard rooms are equipped with 55-inch TVs, while the suites feature 65-inch TVs. All TV sets are outfitted with Google Chromecast for guests who want to personalize their TV experience using their own apps. Each guest room also features a Keurig coffeemaker, mini-fridge and an in-room safe, along with woodlike flooring and modern bathrooms with sliding barn doors.

Public spaces reflect the needs of today’s travelers – providing a mix of inviting configurations and seating options for those looking to connect online or to connect with others around them. The hotel also features more than 30,000 square feet of flexible indoor/outdoor function space, including: a 10,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, a 4,000-square-foot Junior Ballroom, four additional meeting rooms, three boardrooms, a pool bar event space and access to The CityPlace Plaza, an expansive outdoor event area at the heart of the 60-acre CityPlace mixed-use district inside the Springwoods Village community. State-of-the-art AV equipment and support is also available on-site.

In addition to Marriott signature elements like the MClub Lounge, the lobby Great Room and our Grab N Go market, the hotel also includes a three-meal-a-day restaurant and bar, SwitcHouse Plates and Pours, which is the only full-service restaurant in the CityPlace area. The pool, pool bar, and spacious outdoor patio and event space allow travelers to take advantage of the Texas sunshine and fair weather.
